Proposal for Improving Defensive Capabilities of GHQ (*April Fool’s*)

WHEREAS, the working class and the employing class have nothing in common, and

WHEREAS the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) is a revolutionary union and our constitution specifically provides for the defense of revolutionary activities, and

WHEREAS the IWW has been under constant attack from right-wing militants,

WHEREAS the IWW has substantial currency reserves and the following expenditures will not adversely impact the 2019 – 2020 budget, and

WHEREAS the First of May Anarchist Alliance (M1) already requisitioned the necessary funds when it took control of General Headquarters (GHQ) and thus control of the General Administration fund, and

WHEREAS M1 has indicated it will return the aforementioned funds if they are put to revolutionary use,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the General Secretary Treasurer (GST) will purchase the following materials and any remaining funds will be returned to the General Administration fund:

1 T-72 Russian Tank, $50,000 (used),

4 Indoor CCTV cameras, at $1,000 each,

2 Outdoor CCTV cameras, at $1,500 each,

1 Commercial steel security door, at $1,400,

4 Ballistic glass windows, at $1,250 each,

1 BulletBlocker NIJ IIIA Bulletproof HAC Vest, to be worn by the GST at all times, at a cost of $750

2 Used Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks, to cost no more than $10,000 each

2 30mm rotary cannons, to be mounted in the bed of the aforementioned trucks. (M1 has already indicated they’ll provide these to us, for a cost of no more than $25,000 each)

2 Tripod-mounted SPG-9 73mm anti-tank guns, to be provided by M1 for no more than $50,000 each

An additional $20,000 for an assortment of small arms, covering both short-range interior defense needs as well as long-range defense needs.
